Media Influence on Science Policy
As an expert of the media’s coverage of science, Professor Donna Leff of the Medill School of Journalism and faculty affiliate of the Northwestern University's Institute for Policy Research, will be discussing the media’s positive and negative influence on science policy through several case studies in the areas of health, agriculture and environmental research. The Northwestern University Science Policy Action Network (NUSPAN) will host this lecture November 18, 2013 at 4:00 pm in room M345 of the Technological Institute.

Dr. Crabtree will be speaking about the impact of the new DOE battery hub on the future of energy research in a seminar titled "The Energy Storage Challenge: Technology and Society". The talk will take place in Tech LR5 from 5:15-6:15. Snacks will be provided!

Solar Energy Lecture

The Dow lecture is next Tuesday, October 14th at 4:00pm in Tech L211. Our guest is Professor Angus Rockett from the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His talk is entitled: “Photovoltaic Solar Energy – Status, Challenges, and the Future.” There will be a reception in the Cook Hall Atrium at 5:15pm.
